Delta 8 and You - What is Delta 8 THC?

In 2018, an important piece of legislation called the Farm Bill was signed into law. The Farm Bill is a comprehensive legislation package that addresses a wide variety of agriculture and food policies in the United States. The 2018 version of the Farm Bill had a new provision that would revolutionize and kick start the hemp industry. Before 2018, hemp was classified as a controlled substance, under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. This classification made it illegal to possess, grow, process, or sell hemp and hemp products -- hindering its potential economic and agricultural benefits.

The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the cultivation and sale of hemp under certain conditions. It defines hemp as cannabis plants containing less than 0.3% of Delta 9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component behind the appeal of cannabis. This separated hemp from its other plant relations and put a spotlight on its potential. Hemp products are now on the market and thriving, especially one thing in particular: Delta 8 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Delta 8 THC shares a similar structure with Delta 9 THC, but it has its own distinct properties due to those slight differences in chemical bonds that offer a bounty of advantageous effects.
      Calming and Relaxing
Delta 8 THC has been reported to produce a sense of calm and relaxation in users. While its effects differ from Delta 9 THC, users often describe feeling a soothing or clear-headed experience. This unique characteristic of Delta 8 THC gives the tranquility and pleasant experiences without the noted intensity often associated with other cannabinoids.

      Potential Therapeutic Effects
Emerging research suggests that Delta 8 THC holds promise for various therapeutic applications. It exhibits similar properties to Delta 9 THC, such as possible pain relief, anti-inflammatory effects, and potential appetite stimulation. This indicates that Delta 8 THC may offer many benefits for people seeking alternative relief.
      Anxiolytic Properties
Delta 8 THC is also being explored for its potential in helping alleviate symptoms of anxiety. While Delta 9 THC can often induce anxiety or paranoia in individuals, Delta 8 THC may be better tolerated by those who experience anxiety symptoms from other cannabinoids.

Delta 8 THC presents a captivating alternative within the realm of cannabinoids. Its unique properties, including its calming effects, potential therapeutic applications, and anxiolytic properties make it an intriguing subject of study. However, it's important to be aware of local laws and guidelines as well as individual sensitivities to cannabinoids.
